Photographic Printing
The biggest advantages of Photographic printing;
Affordable for small quantities (as few as One print)
Available at any size. 48x96 sheets may be tiled for murals, billboards, etc.
True continuous tone printing. (The right way to print backlits.)

This display was designed for 80 Mini auto dealerships. (Project handled by Czarnowski Exhibit Service.) Two 48x96 lenticular panels are tiled side-by-side for visually seamless 8 ft x 8 ft showroom displays. The large panels are hand mounted for perfect phasing. (Phasing means that both panels change at the same time.) Photographic printing was necessary for quality, size, and cost efficiency.

This large photo print of Markus Naslund, Captain of the Vancouver Canucks, has incredible depth. The lenticular display is 48x96
(120x240 cm) and features a six foot life size image of Naslund, voted Most Outstanding Player (Lester B. Pearson Award) after
the 2003 season. This Big3D creation is on display in the largest hockey store in Canada.
Photo printing was the perfect choice on this project. Size 48x48 inches. Double sided. (Mounted back to back.) The animated display signs showed the swivel action of the iMac. Three different versions per store. Each store received a set of 3 lenticular displays to hang in the front window. The display panels were phased so that each panel showed a different frame of animation at any given time.

Photographic lenticular prints are preferred when you need large size store displays (48x72 for example) to demonstrate products or themes. These in-store displays can also tie in with promotional direct mail campaigns or catalogues
At the time of this project, photographic printing was the only way to get perfect quality at a size 40x48 inches. (Big3D's new 64" press could now print these at litho prices.) The client (Wells Fargo Bank) wanted photographic perfection. Different artwork was desired for different regions of the country.

When Envisio Visual Marketing had us print these 18x50 inch 3D/2-flip displays for 600+ Best Buy stores, photographic printing was the only real possibility. (Most printing presses are limited to 40 inches.) With our new 64 inch press, you now have the choice between photographic and litho.
Photographic prints can be hand mounted to thicker lens materials to give greater depth than achieved on printing presses. This lenticular sign on the in-theatre Dinosaur Movie displays is a classic example. Design tip: the textured background provided wonderful depth, allowing the Dinosaur text to really float off the sign.
